2010 Abe Family Reunion Weather Report...
When we were first planning this shindig, our initial goal was to make sure you’re exposed to all the microclimates of Northern California, thereby inconveniencing everyone and having you pack as much of your wardrobe as possible. For those traveling here by plane, the airlines are going to absolutely love you!
But seriously, this wasn’t our intention at all. While this microclimate phenomena isn’t exclusive to the Northern California Bay Area, it’s presence is very noticeable at this time of year - as those who presently live here, as well as, those who have been here before can probably attest to.

A typical summer day in Tracy, CA can bring daytime temperatures ranging from 80º to 800º. Luckily, it looks like we’ll be on the lower end of that range... : )

...Don’t forget to bring your swim trunks!!!

Dress comfortably. Be prepared for cool weather. A full, fun day checking out the sights in San Francisco and Oakland! Bundle up for a beautiful ferry ride from Jack London Square in Oakland, sailing under the Bay Bridge, crossing in front of the gorgeous San Francisco skyline, and arriving at Pier 39/41 in San Francisco. Now, who will bring the “Fog Repellent”?
8:30am - Oakland, CA (Jack London Square) • 58º/Hopefully Sunny & Clear!
... For the adventurous type, the ride over to San Francisco will probably be a little cool and breezy if you decide to take in the views from the decks of the ferry. Otherwise, there is plenty of room inside to sit and map out your day in the “City by the Bay”.
10am - 12noon - San Francisco, CA (Pier 39/41) • 55º-60º/Hopefully Sunny & Clear!
The Classic Cable Car tour will take us past many famous (...and not so) spots in the city - including a trek across the Golden Gate Bridge (don’t forget the camera, as we’ll take a short stop here!). Some of the passengers will be able to sit inside the car, while others will be exposed to the outside weather.
12noon - 4:30pm - San Francisco, CA (on your own) • 60º-65º/Hopefully Sunny & Clear!
Enjoy your day in San Francisco!
5:40pm - 9:00pm - Oakland, CA (Jack London Square) • 70º-60º/Clear
After we arrive back at Jack London Square, and before our 7:00pm dinner at Silver Dragon, you’ll have some time (about an hour) to walk about and explore this historical area. Take a look here for some great ideas... http://www.jacklondonsquare.com/

Share your San Francisco Tourist ideas!

Reunion Saturday (August 7th) is being set aside for you to experience San Francisco any way you want! Following the Classic Cable Car Tour, you will have 4+ hours to grab lunch and be a San Francisco tourist. There is absolutely something for everyone. • San Francisco Sneak Preview
Before you head off on your own on Reunion Saturday, we will gather together in front of the Waterfront Hotel at Jack London Square in Oakland at 8:30am. From our host hotel (Four Points Sheraton in Pleasanton), this is approximately a 30-40 minute drive. At 9:00am, our Blue & Gold Ferry will leave for our destination - Pier 39/41 in San Francisco. This 35 minute ride will provide you with a great view of the San Francisco skyline, as we travel under the iconic Bay Bridge. When we arrive in San Francisco, we will walk across the street to our awaiting Classic Cable Car Tour. This two-hour tour will orient and acquaint you with some of San Francisco's famous landmarks. Among the places we will see include... Japantown, Union Square, Ghirardelli Square, Nob Hill, The Presidio, Chinatown, and a short stop at the Golden Gate Bridge! So don't forget those cameras!

It's Tee Time!
Hi 2010 Abe Reunion Golfers and Non-Golfers!
Ok, it's time to break out the clubs. For those arriving in town early for the reunion, we will be attempting to play the game of golf at the Callippe Preserve Golf Course in Pleasanton on Thursday, August 5th. This course is only about 15-20 minutes from our host hotel. So, whether you're a golfer or not, come on out and enjoy the wonderful weather and beautiful scenery!
I'll be calling the course on Thursday to set up tee time(s). Based upon the itinerary information received, it looks like we'll be able to tee off by 4pm. However, if you will be playing and need to start later in the day, please let me know. Also, if you are not able to bring your clubs out to the reunion, I've been advised that Callippe has 4-5 set of clubs available to rent.
At this time, if you will be golfing, please let me know...
• That you are planning on participating in the 2010 Abe Family Reunion golf outing.
• The earliest time you are available to play.
• If you need to rent a set of golf clubs.
